I’ve been working super hard over the last few months on some really exciting projects for some amazing clients - but after having a bit of a retrospective look at this year (we are already in April 😮) it hit me quite hard that I've yet to work on anything for me!

So - this long weekend I will be reverting back to 'Hackathon Jake' and will be spending all the time I can on building something. I've a few ideas rolling around in my head - one of which I will decide upon tomorrow morning whilst tucking into an Easter egg. I'll try my best to document all areas of my build - so keep an eye on Twitter and this blog for the rollercoaster that will be my Bank Holiday Build!


I've been building applications for serveral clients, and myself over the course of the last couple of years in Cordova. I find Cordova great for getting apps built using technologies I already know well (HTML, CSS, JS) but recently I have hit a problem where I have an application with a lot of users (10k+ active users) and some are reporting errors.

I needed a quick way of reporting these errors - so I wrote a few lines of JS to collect them!

Serverless Websites

I've been interested in serverless web systems ever since I was asked by a client to setup a store on the popular p2p marketplace called OpenBazaar. The idea fascinated me - instead of connecting to normal servers, you connect to peers - like Torrents - and download the websites from them. The only issue for me with this system was that you had to download software to do it. This got me thinking - can you do the same sort of things with normal websites, without downloading new software?
